Moana Coloring Pages

She crossed the ocean alone at sixteen — these Moana coloring pages pick up right where the movie left off. Moana gripping her oar mid-storm, Maui flexing with the Fishhook, baby Moana reaching for the ocean, Pua tucked under her arm, and Hei Hei somehow still alive despite everything. The island doesn’t wait.

Each of these printable Moana coloring pages opens with the boldest, cleanest outlines — single-character pages designed for toddlers who are still figuring out crayons. From there the detail builds: duo scenes with Moana and Maui, full ocean backgrounds, Tamatoa’s glittering shell, Polynesian pattern pages, and the Te Fiti restoration scene that’s the most detailed Moana coloring page in the set. We also included scenes from Moana 2 — the new crew, the deeper ocean, and Moana as a full wayfinder.

The full set covers everything Disney fans actually search for — classic Disney Moana coloring pages, Maui coloring pages with his tattoo details, a coloring page for every main character, and a few pages pulled straight from the sequel. Whether your kid watched the original fifty times or just came home from the theater, there’s a page that matches exactly where their obsession is right now.

Every page is a free printable Moana coloring page — no account, no email, no paywall. Click any image below to open the PDF and print on US Letter or A4, at home, in the classroom, or for homeschool use.

Who Is Moana?

Moana is the daughter of the chief of Motunui, a Polynesian island whose people stopped sailing generations ago. The ocean chose her — literally — to restore the Heart of Te Fiti, a stolen stone that’s slowly destroying every island it left behind. She sets out alone, eventually teams up with the demigod Maui, faces the lava monster Te Kā, and figures out that the ocean didn’t choose her by accident.

Moana 2 picks up with her as a fully trained wayfinder, this time leading a crew into deeper, uncharted waters to break an ancient curse. The franchise is part of Disney’s most successful modern era, and Moana ranks consistently among the top five most searched Disney princess coloring topics every year — partly because her story holds up on rewatch, and partly because kids who loved the first movie at age four are now old enough for the sequel.

The main cast across both films: Moana, Maui (demigod, shapeshifter, Dwayne Johnson), Pua (her pig), Heihei (her chicken, famously useless), Tamatoa (giant glittery crab), Te Kā / Te Fiti (villain and goddess, same character), and Moana’s grandmother Tala, who shows up as a manta ray.

Coloring Tips

The classic Moana palette is warm and oceanic: deep brown skin, long black hair, a red and tan outfit with Polynesian pattern details, and whatever blue you want for the ocean behind her. Maui is darker brown with black tattoos covering most of his body — those tattoos are the most detail-heavy element in the set and reward colored pencils over crayons.

For Younger Kids:

  • Stick to the baby Moana and toddler pages — the outlines are the thickest in the set
  • Yellow-orange for Heihei’s beak, white for his body, red for his comb
  • Pua is pink with a curly tail — one of the easiest pages to finish quickly

For Older Kids and Adults:

  • Maui’s tattoo pages work best with fine-tip colored pencils
  • The Te Kā face-off page has the most dramatic contrast — dark lava tones against Moana’s warm browns
  • The tribal dress and tribal flags pages have the most pattern detail — work one section at a time
  • For the magic map page, try aged parchment tones (light tan, burnt orange) to make it feel old and mysterious

What to Do With Finished Pages

Story sequencing: The set has enough scenes to tell both movies start to finish. Print baby Moana, the canoe journey, the Te Kā face-off, the Heart of Te Fiti, and the Moana 2 pages in order — punch holes and tie with ribbon for a homemade storybook.

Bedroom wall display: The flower crown page and the tribal dress page both frame well. Add a simple cardstock border and they work as actual wall art for a kid’s room.

Party activity: Print one page per guest before a Moana-themed birthday. Set out crayons, let kids color during the party, and finished pages go home as party favors. The Moana and Pua page is the most popular choice for this.

Bookmark: Cut a tall strip around any single-character page, back it with cardstock, punch a hole at the top, and thread a ribbon through. Moana with her paddle cuts into a clean shape and works perfectly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these Moana coloring pages free?

Yes — every page in the set is completely free. Click any image or the PDF link below it to open and download directly. No sign-up, no email, no account needed.

Are there Moana 2 coloring pages here?

Yes — six pages pulled directly from Moana 2, including the canoe journey, the magic map, the Te Fiti island scene, Moana on the shore, and the Moana and Maui side-by-side scene from the sequel.

What color is Moana’s outfit?

Her signature outfit is a red top with tan Polynesian pattern details, a layered skirt in similar tones, and a necklace holding the Heart of Te Fiti. Her skin is warm brown and her hair is long and black.

Are there easy Moana pages for toddlers?

Yes — the baby Moana, little Moana, and laughing face pages use the thickest outlines and simplest shapes in the set. All three work well with chunky crayons for kids just learning to color inside the lines.

Is there a Maui coloring page?

Yes — several. Maui appears solo and alongside Moana in multiple scenes, including the back-to-back pose, the fist bump, the friends page, and the Moana 2 side-by-side. His tattoo details make him the most challenging character to color in the full set.

Can I print these on A4 paper?

Yes — every page is formatted for both A4 and US Letter portrait. The lines are crisp and the characters fill the page, so no awkward white margins at the bottom.
